Let There Be Love

By Kwame Kwei-Armah

Alfred is a "quintessentially grumpy" elderly man, originally from the West Indies who is attended to intermittently by his thirty-year-old daughter Gemma, who struggles to manage the pressures brought about by Alfred’s aging as well as the struggles of trying to make ends meet in London. When Alfred’s new Polish home-helper, Maria, starts work in the house, Alfred finds a new role in life, and a new chance to make connections before it is too late.
