Family story focused on young woman whose mother has just died. The secrets of her past intrude into her present disrupting her relationship with her boyfriend , her father and her dead mother.

Award-winning play based on Isabel Allende's landmark novel charts the complex social and political lives of three generations of a family in an un-named country in Latin America. The conflicted rags to riches rise of a stubborn patriarch is contrasted with the interior and exterior worlds of a grandmother, mother and daughter growing up in the shadow of violence.
