A struggling blues band is invited to play a benefit concert for an Indigenous community in conflict with the government. By the time they get to the reserve all musical acts are cancelled and they are trapped behind the barricades.
Realistic
A comedy of errors: Martha, a teetotalling pillar of the church, is stuck with 143 cases of beer after a church fundraiser fails. She decides to bootleg the beer to the horror of her son who is a special constable on the reserve where they live. He is smitten with his "cousin". Martha's daughter is sorting out relationship difficulties caught between an attractive pow-wow dancer and her conservative common law husband.
