Inspired by the playwright's experience as a refugee from Colombia in the 1980's, Lizardboy unravels the story of a family stained by the vibrancy and tragedy of that chaotic world.

Disfunctional family drama dealing with the dissolution of the nuclear family, violence in America and transgender issues. Isaac returns from the war in Iraq to find his family transformed. His father is a near vegetable wearing a dress put on him by his wife who has taken control. Isaac's sister Max has changed hir gender and now presents as male.

Intimate and affirming, Sky Gilbert confirms the bond he shared with his mother, both in his own voice and through the voice of his alter ego, Jane.
