This play is based around the doctrines of Yakub, which describe the origin of white peope as a failed artificial creation of a crazy black scientist of the same name (written as "Jacob" in the play). Colloquially called "the white beast" and causing general havoc for the ever peaceful blacks, ending with a call to "Let us declare the holy war. The Jihad. Or we cannot deserve to live."
Realistic
A family drama with lots of humour shining a light on what it means to be a Muslim in modern America. Zarina is writing a potentially inflammatory novel about women and Islam. Her father sets up a date with a white convert believing she must marry soon. An intelligent and passionate play about intergenerational misunderstandings.
